چکیده

Theory of magnetoresistance in films of dilute magnetic alloys. Abstract Giordano measured the magnetoresistance of dilute magnetic alloys Au(Fe) films of different thickness. He explained the difference in the magnetic field saturation for different thickness by the magnetic surface anisotropy for the impurities has been suggested and evaluated earlier, which is due to spin-orbit scattering in the host. In the present paper the magnetoresistance is calculated for films in the presence of the surface anisotropy. The strength of the anisotropy is very similar to those deduced from the thickness dependence of the Kondo resistivity amplitude.

CoFe–Cu granular alloys: From noninteracting particles to magnetic percolation

CoFe–Cu granular films with ferromagnetic content ranging from 0.10 to 0.33 by volume were prepared by radio frequency sputtering. As-cast samples were rapidly annealed at various temperatures up to 750 °C to promote the segregation of CoFe particles within the metallic matrix. Magnetic and transport properties suggested that this family of samples may be classified into three groups: ~i! below...

Giant magnetoresistance in NiFe-Ag granular alloys

Some FeNi-Ag granular films of composition Fe ld%.w‘h8z.2z (sample A) and Fe7.62Ni16.4Ag75.98 (B) were prepared by using rf magnetron sputtering, gnd once deposited were rapidly annealed at 600, 650, and 750 “C. All samples displayed giant magnetoresistance. The zero-field-cooled and field-cooled processes evidence the segregation of ferromagnetic particles with a broad size distribution. The t...

Electrodeposited Iron Group Thin-Film Alloys Structure-Property Relationships

Various iron group alloys have been electrodeposited and evaluated for properties including corrosion resistance, microstructure, electrical resistivity, magnetoresistance and other magnetic properties. Corrosion resistance depends on deposit composition and microstructure, which are controlled by solution composition and deposition variables. Maximum corrosion resistance was observed for 50Ni5...

Dephasing by extremely dilute magnetic impurities revealed by Aharonov-Bohm oscillations.

We have probed the magnetic field dependence of the electron phase coherence time tau(phi) by measuring the Aharonov-Bohm conductance oscillations of mesoscopic Cu rings. Whereas tau(phi) determined from the low-field magnetoresistance saturates below 1 K, the amplitude of Aharonov-Bohm h/e oscillations increases strongly on a magnetic field scale proportional to the temperature. This provides ...
